The Armory was built in 1893 in the Romanesque style. Located at 36 S. Common Street, the Lynn Armory was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

Built on the site of the Reverend Lindsay's home, the Armory has served the National Guard on South Common Street for years.

During the thirties the Armory was headquarters for one company of engineers, one company of infantry and one battery of field artillery.

Today the Armory serves as a recruitment center for the military as well as the meeting spot for new drivers as they take their "road test."  (Photo from Wikipedia)
