Salt marshes are transitional areas between land and sea. As tides rise and fall, nutrients are carried in and absorbed by the marsh plants.

These wetlands are protected by the Clean Water Act and feature an ecosystem as viable as the rainforests. Those bales of marsh hay make for good eating.
