This post card was created very close to 1900. Notice the lack of overhead trolley wires and the awnings on one side of the street.
Zimmin's, a fabric and decorating business on Market Street, is celebrating 100 years in business this year.

The overhead electric trolley was invented by Lynner, Charles Van de Poele.  Originally from Belgium, he lived on Essex Street next to the Lynn (English) High School.
The Y.M.C.A. was at the corner of Market and Tremont Streets (where the Brotherhood Credit Union is today).
