When John Hutchinson gave High Rock to the people of Lynn in 1904 it was under the condition that an observation tower be built so that the people of Lynn could enjoy the fantastic views his family had for many decades.

Views From High Rock

High Rock Tower is the second highest spot in the city; 190 feet above sea level to reach the top of High Rock plus the 85 foot tower is still 65 feet less than Stone Tower's highest point.

Many of the same buildings remain today. Shoe factories have become apartment buildings, small businesses and condominiums.

The yellow building at the base of High Rock was Lynn's Shoe Industrial High School. Today it is the new home of Girl's Inc.
