All Politics is Local: There’s Something Afoot in Lynn

Just in time for the 2008 election season, “All Politics is Local: There’s Something Afoot in Lynn” opened on Thursday, October 16, 2008 at 5:30 with a reception and opportunity to meet the curator, Anne Starr.

The exhibition, which runs through the spring 2010, takes a look at Lynn politics and the local grass-root movements that were entwined with the political issues of the day. The Lynn Museum has a vast collection of objects documenting the city’s participation in local, state and national politics, as well as its part in the important social movements that were energized by Lynn residents.

With assistance from collectors who have loaned the Museum unusual and one-of-a-kind objects, the exhibition is sure to please visitors of all ages. The opening reception is free and open to the public. The Museum is open to the public on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, from noon to 4:00 pm, and on Thursday from noon to 8:00 pm.
